Tiger Tennis caters for adults of all levels and interests. The Tiger Tennis adult programme offers a clear pathway of development whatever level you join at. For those wishing to try the game for the first time, touchtennis offers a fun and accessible way to get started. The innovative Beginner to Winner course is aimed at beginners, improvers or those falling into the ‘rusty racket’ category, and is an affordable and structured way to improve your game. For real personalised coaching for specific issues and development then Individual Lessons are an effective option.
Cardio Tennis is great for getting fit and having a good time, while the Coffee and Tennis mornings offer a more relaxed and social way to play. Both of these sessions are also great to dust of the cobwebs if you haven’t played for a while! For one off ‘top ups’ to learn new skills or keep your game sharp, we run regular Tennis Essentials and Doubles Skills workshops.
The core of the Tiger Tennis programme is run at Wishel Lawn Tennis Club in the heart of Woking. It is a hidden gem in beautiful surroundings only a short distance from the town centre. We have collaborated closely with the club and together we are able to offer fantastic opportunities to improve your game and enjoy playing whatever your age and stage!
B2W (Beginner to Winner) Course
At Tiger Tennis we recognise that if you are a beginner it can be intimidating, not to mention frustrating, to try and keep a rally going and have a satisfying game of tennis on a full court! That is why we have designed the Beginner to Winner course in 3 progressive stages, beginning on a small court with soft balls at Level 1 and then moving gradually through to a full court with the normal yellow ball at Level 3. Using this method will give you a greater sense of competency and progression at every level, and so we believe this is a much more comfortable and enjoyable way to learn to play tennis.
Any of the levels may be repeated as necessary to further integrate the information and skills into your game and build your confidence. The courses are also designed so that you can start at any level depending on your previous playing experience, view course details for more information.
Individual lessons are a fantastic way to gain precise and personalised feedback, delivered in a way that is relevant to your needs. It also gives you the opportunity to get the repetition required to enable new skills to ‘stick’ and be incorporated into your game.
Lessons are normally 1hr at a rate of £30 but can also be part thereof depending on your requirements.

Video Analysis service
This is an extended version of an individual lesson and is ideal for ‘ad hoc’ lessons or those who are visual learners and who would like a record of what they need to work on. Your game will initially be observed and assessed. Following this, an area of focus will be agreed and recorded ‘in action’. After this, we will work on improving the core focus area and look at how that fits into the game situation and tactical intention. Following the lesson you will also be sent a recorded video demonstration by email of what you are aiming for, along with key points for you to refer to.
The full package costs £55 and the lesson is 1hr 15mins.

WHAT’S IT ABOUT?
Cardio Tennis is an energetic group fitness class that combines tennis drills and activities with cardiovascular exercise, delivering the ultimate full body, calorie burning workout. It is set to up-tempo music and is a great way to get fit, meet new people, improve your game and have fun!
WHY CARDIO TENNIS?
Cardio tennis sessions are a great way to get active as they are energetic and fast paced. Sessions are designed so that you are always moving and maintaining a high energy workout. The workouts are structured so that there are warm-up activities, tennis based drills and cool down activities. The tennis drills work on all shots and game situations and are mostly fed by the coach, but points based drills and doubles play are also part of the session. There are also usually one or two fun, ‘game style’ drills to keep everyone on their toes towards the end of the session.
Cardio tennis classes are geared towards keeping you in your target heart-rate zone so that you can burn the most calories and get the best workout possible in the hour long sessions. Men can burn between 500-1000 calories in one class, and women between 300 and 500. Cardio Tennis is similar to interval training which is periods of high intensity followed by short periods of rest. Interval training is considered one of the best ways to train for optimum health and fitness.
All abilities and fitness levels welcome
The only pre-requisite to joining a class is that you are prepared to have lots of fun and get fit along the way. Getting the ball in is less important than keeping your heart rate up, but as you will be hitting lots of balls, as long as you make contact once in a while, you will be guaranteed to make improvement whatever your level!
The cardio tennis drills are mostly fed by the coach so you can make the cardio tennis session work for you and your goals. If you are a bit out of shape or more of a beginner player then you can slow things down to a level you are comfortable with. If you are a more advanced player you can take the session to a higher level by demanding more of your shots as well as challenge your level of fitness for a more intense workout.
Social and Fun
Alongside getting fitter and better at tennis, one of the real benefits is that it is also a social activity and is a great way to meet new people. The combination of music and a class capacity of up to 12 people creates a great atmosphere and ensures that above all everyone has a great time! Coffee and Tennis Morning
This is a great opportunity to meet new people and enjoy playing the game in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. If you haven’t played in a while and would like to get back into tennis, or if you are having coaching and are looking for more ways to practise and build your confidence, this is the session for you. If you feel you can keep a basic rally going you are welcome to come along! It is not a specifically coached session, but a coach will be on hand to organise the session and offer advice where necessary to enable the session to run smoothly. You are also welcome to come along and have your game assessed and discuss what coaching options would be best suited for your requirements. There is no obligation as it is a pitch up and play session.
Wishel Club Sessions
Wishel Lawn Tennis Club is a hidden gem in the heart of Woking. With two courts in excellent condition, floodlights and a beautiful location that backs onto Woking Park, playing there is always a pleasurable experience.
There are three main club sessions per week which are open to all members as well as other sessions for both men and ladies that are organised throughout the week. There is always a friendly atmosphere and members welcome new players, encouraging them to join in and have a go.

Woking ‘Martian’ Tennis league
If you are ready for a challenge and want to test your game out against other local tennis enthusiast then the Woking Tennis League will allow you to do that. The original league was started in Highbury Fields by Sally Kinnes and Nigel Billen and is now in its ninth year. There are now approximately 80 leagues in the UK with new ones being added all the time. Local Tennis Leagues is registered as a Place to Play with the LTA and recognised by the Tennis Foundation, a charity set up by the LTA to promote grass-roots tennis. The Tiger Tennis adult coaching programme will help you to take your game to the next level and start winning matches.
Wishel Tennis Club Singles League
Wishel Lawn Tennis Club boasts a fantastic location in the heart of Woking and runs singles leagues for different playing abilities, so you are sure to meet your match! Leagues are a great way to get fit, improve your game and meet new people.
Wishel Tennis Club Teams
The Club participates in the local Club leagues and runs Mens, Ladies and Mixed teams. These are doubles matches and getting into one of the teams is great motivation for improving your game and understanding of the art of doubles play.
