At Tiger Tennis we allow children to be who they are and where they are, while giving them the skills to take ownership of themselves and their own improvement. We support them in their journey towards making the most of their potential in tennis and in life.
‘Teaching Life Skills Through Tennis’
We believe that group tennis coaching provides a wonderful environment to teach Life Skills to children. We take an integrated approach because we know that in order for them to succeed in tennis, as in any other aspect of their life, children need to develop many different skills and qualities, not just the ability to get the ball over the net!
We consider any part of the session from picking up balls to watching a demonstration, an opportunity to teach and develop important Life Skills. We encourage children to use their initiative and take responsibility for their own learning and motivation. In this way, they learn that it is not just down to the coach, but that they have an equal role in the success of each session.
We also believe it is important to show children the value of learning to cooperate and work as a team. We aim to show them the value of respecting each other, and to increase their awareness of how their behaviour can affect others, as well as the success of the group.
All of 6 Core Processes that form Tiger Tennis Coaching Method© work together to support our Child Centred approach and Life Skills training.
